We ended the last blog post with a video of Alon doing The Shimmy. Needless to say, that is not his only move. As a prelude to crawling, Alon has begun doing a move that Neil entitled “The Worm.” It involves getting up on hands and knees, rocking, and then lunging forward to grab whatever toy catches his interest at the moment. A little ungraceful, but it works. Anyway, who am I kidding with that description? You’re not interested in reading about it, you want to see it for yourselves of course. Here you go:
Those of you who have met Alon are familiar with his apparently rather unusual habit of thump thump thumping, aka kicking his heels on the floor (previously mentioned here). He has been doing this since about 2 months and shows no signs of stopping. But Alon has added some different kicks to his repertoire recently, too.
For those of you who haven’t had a chance to see his kicks in action or who have forgotten what the move looks like, here’s a brief reminder:
In the last week or so Alon has discovered the joys of kicking not only the floor but the wall and the chest that serves as our living room coffee table. Here he is trying out the move:
Way, way more fun than kicking the wall though is basically doing the opposite of the thump thump thump kick. In other words, Alon has taken up trying to fly while lying on his stomach. I’m not sure how else to describe it.
Alright. Updating all of you on Alon’s adventures is also way more fun than working on my dissertation chapter, but I should get back to it. More to come soon!
